Darwin Airport Resort All-Stars vs Quezon Red Oilers

Hey peeps... I have uploaded some pictures of the Brunei Cup and all of them were taken by Jeffrey Wong. I think the best shot for me is the top left side pick where Guiyab lost his balance as he was trying to steal the ball of Miles Pearce. I'm surely gonna miss the Brunei Cup and this is my third year running the website and updates. Thank you to the organisers for giving me this opportunity. Thank you to Jeffrey for the pictures. Thank you to the scorers of the tournament.

Singapore Slingers - Brunei Cup 2008 champions
Written by Rano Iskandar
Saturday, 30 August 2008
All the six games they played, LG Sakers were flawless in terms of results. They scored from three point range with ease. They are quick on the floor. They defend with high intensity when required. However, they weren't able to transit their momentum to the finals as they bowed out to Singapore Slingers 86-75.

I was quite surprised by the score line as LG Sakers were limited to only 20 points in the first half. That run is the worst point performance in the Brunei Cup, being the only team to score the lowest half time score with 20 points. Jordan All-Stars had earlier scored the lowest (26 points) half-time score but it was unlikely that LG Sakers to do poorly in the scoring department.

Can Slingers dethrone Sakers tonight?
Written by Rano Iskandar
Saturday, 30 August 2008

Who will win tonight's championship? No team has defeated the LG Sakers in the Brunei Cup and every time when they play catch-up, LG Sakers have enough firepower to pull away on numerous occasion. They are sharper than any other teams beyond the arc and their import players especially Ivan Johnson is the driving force for the Koreans.

What do Cho Sang-Hyun, Lee Ji-Un, Lee Hyun-Min, Myoung-Jun Suk and Ivan Johnson have in common? They all can shoot 3 pointers and this is what make them dangerous to play against. Furthermore, the Koreans are fast on the court and they can tire their opponents late in the game. This shows how fit these players are. It will take more than just tactics to outclass the Koreans.
